ICC solicits nominations for the Marcel Pourbaix Award, which will be presented in 2014 at the 19th International Corrosion Congress in Jeju, Korea.
The Marcel Pourbaix Award for Promotion of International Cooperation recognizes outstanding contributions of corrosion scientists or engineers to international cooperation, to the exclusion of personal or commercial interests.
Nominations should be made by three members of the ICC to the Chairman at least one year before the International Corrosion Congress. |

Terms of Reference

1. The award will normally be given every three years to one (or more) corrosion scientists or engineers who have made exceptional contributions in promoting the objectives stated in the ICC constitution, in stimulating activity on an international plane and in developing cooperation, friendship and support. The contribution will have been made to the exclusion of personal or commercial interest. The achievements may have been made quite generally, or to assist developments in one country, or a group of countries |
2. Nominations should be made by three members of the ICC to the Chairman at least one year before the International Corrosion Congress at which the award will be given. A citation of about 100 words should be provided, supported by a concise curriculum vitae of the proposed recipient and supporting material, including letters from other ICC members, or from leading, disinterested corrosion scientists or engineers |
3. Selection of the recipients of the award will be made by the Executive Committee of the ICC. Serving members of the Executive Committee shall not be proposed |
4. The award will be an appropriate certificate, signed by the Chairman of the ICC. It will normally be presented at the banquet of the International Corrosion Congress |
